In his blog, Vice-Chancellor Brian Schmidt announced that ANU will have a holiday for all staff on Friday the 17th of September. Schmidt explained that the purpose of this rest day is to give staff a day off “…without our inbox being full when we come back.”
Schmidt acknowledged that some essential staff will have to work on the 17th, but that they will have a different day off. He also stated that any casual staff should talk with their supervisor, promising that “…we’ll make sure you’re not out of pocket.”
As this day off comes during the teaching break, it will not affect any student lessons, and teaching will still commence on the 20th of September.
We acknowledge the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Woroni, Woroni Radio and Woroni TV are created, edited, published, printed and distributed. We pay our respects to Elders past and present. We acknowledge that the name Woroni was taken from the Wadi Wadi Nation without permission, and we are striving to do better for future reconciliation.
