In his latest blog post, Vice Chancellor Brian Schmidt announced that graduation ceremonies will return from February 2022, replacing the current hybrid celebration system that had been announced earlier this year. The ANU expects that in-person graduations will be able to be delivered in alignment with COVID-19 safety guidelines, and that all graduating students will be contacted over the next few weeks with further details.
Earlier this year, the class of 2020 graduated in a hybrid “Grand Graduation” in place of in-person events last year. The July 2021 graduation ceremony was also cancelled due to the health risks posed by the “highly contagious Delta strain of COVID-19”.
Schmidt said that more information regarding the upcoming ceremonies will be available within the coming weeks.
